Woke to a touch of snow on the motorcycle and picnic table, though it melted quickly. Grabbed showers, ate breakfast, got some chores done on the computer and then prepared to head out. Snow flurries as we loaded the motorcycle made the trailer slick so it took us a couple of tries. Headed out and, after looking at weather in Rocky Mountain, decided to get as close as possible - tomorrow's the only non-snowy day until the weekend, so we want to take advantage of it! Drove until just after sunset, only a couple of hours short of the park entrance.
Dropped off early at work and started getting prepped to do a watercolorportrait of Ashley. Didn't quite get to painting by beginning of the day, however, so brought it home to work on later. Work day, spent most of themorning putting together the drafting table and the afternoon getting newevents on the TAE calendar. Bill Perlette sent the W2s for the last fewyears so we have all of our paperwork gathered that they requested. Homefor supper and then signing all of the hard copy documents for the bank.Decided to just be done with it so we went to Ashley's office and shequickly scanned the signed papers and emailed them to me. Then home, Icollected everything and uploaded it to their website. Then, done with allof that for the evening, we headed to bed for a bit of reading.
Work day, lots of meetings it felt like. Bill's waiting in the hospital soRobin was a touch late and then waiting for a call from him. Lunch atRochester with N2 and a delightful chat there. Then a meeting with the cityabout the road changes - seemed like that just went in circles as everyonevoiced their thoughts. Also seems like no one has all the info and any onechange will domino into many others. Ashley and I walked a bit on the rivertrail then grabbed ginger beers at Nature's Oasis and sat on their patioenjoying them. Picked up ice cream and headed to Sue and Keith's for smallgroup. Delightful wrap-up to the study. Headed home, tired. Ashley told meher pee-stick was positive. Yay!
Pretty slow morning for all of us. After lunch we packed up and headed outto explore the trail in the neighborhood that Danny told us about. It wassteeper than we were anticipating (and we're more out of shape thanrealized) but made it to the top and enjoyed the view at the bench. Westopped a short way back on the trail, still overlooking Vallecito, forLily's snack. The carrier worked out really well, Lily was able to watchout, front-facing, for about 3/4 of the hike overall. Home and grilled forsupper, plus salad from the basement garden. Ashley ran me off to bed earlyand I dozed right off.
Spent much of the day working on the chicken tractor. Got it mostlyfunctional. Just a few more details to wrap up (wheels, handle, wireskirting at the bottom). We chatted and read before bed.
I took the car in the morning so I could take in Jason's frames and bringhome the mirror frame (that doesn't fit in the Jeep). Left work early so Icould be home by 2 - Ashley and Lily went over to Christina's to play. Ireframed the big mirror in the stairwell - looks much better and more likeour style. Got some chores done while Ashley and Lily were off. Cooked tacomeat for Taco Tuesday. Good supper as a group, then wrapped up the day.
