After stopping at 81301 for coffee we headed up past Silverton to the IceLake Trail, which was recommended to us on the backpacking trip with Jack(so a few years ago!) and hiked up to Ice Lake. It was stunning! I sat andpainted it in watercolor while Ashley ate and explored the area a bitfurther. After I finished we headed on up the trail to Island Lake, alsogorgeous! Then we headed back down. Back in town, we split a pastie atAnimas Brewing before heading home for the evening.
Ashley wasn't feeling better in the morning so she stayed home for the day.I headed in to work after a leisurely morning and took care of the store.Started automating some of the daily routine tasks. Wrapped up at the endof the day and grabbed some cornbread mix and headed home. Ashley had chiliready and waiting, plus the paint date supplies ready to go. She put in thecorn bread and we caught up on our daily questions then had supper. Next itwas time for our paint date and we had a great time following along andpainting our birds on tree silhouettes. A short bit of reading and then offto bed.
Slow morning, spent most of the day working in the shed, sorting throughtools and such. Ashley made cookies. Burritos for supper and chatted for abit. Back to the shed and it started raining so stayed longer than planned.Grabbed a rain jacket from a box and headed inside finally.
Spent the morning with Lily and Ashley, then headed to the store for theday. Left a bit early and surprised them at home. We had supper and read inthe evening.
We walked over to Gigi's Cafe in Ellis for breakfast. Ashley and Lilystopped at the playground while I prepped the RV for the road, picking themup on my way out of the campground. We made it to the state park inWalsenburg fairly early in the afternoon. It was cooler in Kansas and onthe prairie than here!
I walked over to the hardware store after breakfast to get some teflonplumber's tape. Didn't fix the leak, but slowed it down. Ashley and Lilywent to the playground for a short bit (cold) while I packed up. We headedout and journeyed to our last campground, in Colorado, at the state park.Nice to have a playground and showers available. We gathered loose firewoodand made a small fire for s'mores. Lily was thrilled with the treat.
