Picked up groceries and headed to the ranch to join Karen and Craig for the h oliday weekend. Private property signs confused us a bit so we took the long way around to be safe. Great time visiting and catching up and generally be ing away from civilization.
Woke and started working on paperwork. Mostly caught up on emails, preppedphysical paperwork for F-H, Inc, etc. After lunch I headed in to work onthe mural - almost got the background completed, about 1% left to go! Thescaffolding came off the sidewalk and a can of blue paint (the river) slidoff and spilled onto the parking lot but I caught the scaffolding so itdidn't fall (and no cars were around so safe there!). Cleaned up as well aspossible and then quitting time for the Ace crew so we cleared out. Homefor supper and a walk around the lake before reading.
Woke at normal time but stayed in bed for a bit. Coffee and reading beforeCraig and Karen were up and at em. After breakfast Craig and I startedchanging out the window screens that the birds had pecked holes in andfinished making the hanging ladder rack. The girls picked some weeds by thelower pond for a bit. Then we all snacked before Ashley and I packed andheaded home. Stopped at Sam's for some paper goods for the store and thenChick fil-a for lunch. Home and Ashley realized she left her purse at therestaurant so I headed back to pick it up. Podcast listening and chattedwith Mom for a bit on the way. Then some reading before bed.
Hung out with Lily for most of the day. Ashley joined us for a shortsection of lunchtime walk and for all of the afternoon walk. I got throughthe first of the two quail podcast episodes to learn about raising them. Wehad supper (mexican bowls) out on the back porch. I made veggie stock andwe prepped boiled beets and carrots for Lily to try as purees.
Nice to be home. Lily and I went to the Treehouse for the morning whileAshley went to the farm. She came back with quite a haul (about 60lbs oftomatoes, 4 gallons of green beans, another bag loaded with zucchini, andover a gallon of tomatillos). We already had tomatoes, so about 100 lbstotal. With the kitchen in full use we went to Eepa's for supper. Nice tohave a break. We did a lot of prepping and ended up staying up latefinishing canning half of the tomatoes. The pressure cooker came in handyas we could run two batches of jars at the same time. I worked on the FarmFresh cross stitch and made some more progress on it. We read for a bitwhile waiting for the jars and then headed to bed.
