Prepped for hitting the road tomorrow - laundry, packing up curing soap for travel, etc. Spent the evening with the neighbors (Sean, Mike, and Leonard) and really enjoyed it. Guess we shoulda spent more time with them before. Sean is into self-reliance, wild foods, etc and showed me how to use a bowdrill. I got a coal formed and he gave me some materials so that I can get started. That's exciting and going to be a great skill to practice.
Woke to a few inches of snow, and still falling! Ashley was able to reservea room for her class and headed in to the office early so she could drop meoff on the way. I forgot my work keys and ended up at the coffee shop.Walked over and met Robin to get into the store. Kind of a slow work day.Afterward Ashley met me at the studio and we enjoyed the employee paintparty - painted a landscape and enjoyed a meal that Shondra made! Home forthe evening and pretty quicly to bed.
In to work. Kristen and I played with oil paints so she could learn about them. Fun project but I'll have to go back and add more details to my flower later on. Home after work - Ashley's leadership meeting at the church went well. A bit of reading before bed.
Slept in the murphy bed so woke feeling good, if too early because of thealarm going off. Got stuff ready for the day. We went to the pediatricianto discuss Lily's lack of weight gain and got some advice. Going to feedher an extra ounce after each daytime meal. After a late breakfast I tookLily from Ashley so she could get some more sleep. Went for a walk down tothe lake - nice to be out but it was cold! Got some filing and such donefor work. Made steaks for supper - still really good but think that it sattoo long and wasn't as soft as the first one on my birthday. Ashley went tobed early and I sat up with Lily, reading. Still haven't quite memorizedhow to solve the rubiks cube, but down the the last 4 corners.
Ashley went into Bayfield in the morning but wasn't able to get her errandcompleted. Once she got back I headed in to the store. Chipped away at afew smaller tasks throughout the day. Home in the evening and Ashley had acurry lentil soup prepared - smelled and tasted delish. She went to bedearly and I stayed up for a bit reading and taking book notes.
Lily didn't sleep well at all, so neither did we - especially Ashley. I gotup and Ashley went to bed (she'd spent most of the night on the couch.)Lily and I went to Blue Sky Cafe for breakfast and circled around a fewblocks to stretch our legs before getting too cold and heading home for themorning. We got some packing done - wrapping up the upstairs office/guestbedroom. We headed to Heartwood to get the chicken coop all ready for theaddition of our birds. Ashley and Lily headed home at nap time. I checkedin with Ronda and Jack to learn about raising cows and pigs and discuss thetruck. Home and we finished most of the packing upstairs. Ashley loadedmost of the baby stuff into the RV, so we cleared some space in thebasement, finally. Leftovers for supper, then reading and an early bed foreveryone.
