Shew, hot day! In the upper 90s. Ash woke with a headache so we stay near the RV for a bit. Hike the nature trail off the campground - spot craft sculptures for sale on the ground. Honor system with a jar for cash. A Mexican com es over in the morning to drop them off, we saw him heading back across the river as we walked. I wade the river, standing momentarily in Mexico (illegally, I suppose). Bicycled over to Boquillas Canyon and bike into it, along the Rio Grande. Bicycle to Daniels Ranch. In the evening we motorcycle up to t he Hot Springs. Saw a beautiful sunset framed through the tunnel on the way. Didn't realize there were pictographs, petroglyphs and buildings to explore so wished we had more time. The hot springs were nice, but too many people. Still too hot to get in, will be a great start in the morning - when it's cool and we expect to have less of a crowd.
Started snowing while at church. Coverd the care up while enjoying brunchat Doughworks. Lazy day at home since it was all slushy outside (butpretty!) Made leek and potato soup, veggie stock, and prepped forveggie/beef stew tomorrow. Then made soda bread and enjoyed supper.
Woke early (Trixie was in my bed most of the night) and packed up. Breakfast and chatted and then hit the road. Spent the day driving home. Great to be b ack with Ashley!
Still hard to get up so slept a touch late. Headed into the store to seehow it's going. Cleaned a bit in the frame shop. Kristen and Lexis coloredsome to highlight the art kits. Home and made beans and rice for supper.Tired and couldn't wait to get to bed.
Stayed home to participate in the FRD online summit. Nice to be able to sitand focus for the day. Took lots of notes and will have to parse throughthose. Ran to the grocery store for a couple of items. Chatted with Ashleyand played with Lily for a bit. We were both tired so we watched a bit of ashow before heading to bed. I read for just a bit. Chickens are doing fine.
Slept in a bit late and a slow start to the morning. Made pancakes andsausage for breakfast. Lily's definitely feeling better and was ready toget out and about. I hung up the climbing holds that Jackie sent on a treein the back yard and Lily climbed them a couple of times (hard to do in thechicken boots). I cut down and cleaned up a couple of broken trees/branchesfrom the oak cluster in the front yard. After lunch I went over to checkwith Jim about the downed tree in their front yard - he still wanted it cutso I grabbed the sawzall and got started. Managed to get all of thebranches cleared - everything but the trunk - will have to get the chainsawout for that. Lily didn't nap for a hoot - took a long time to get to sleepand finally dozed off about the time we needed to get her up. They went tothe playground while I worked on the pine tree, then came back for supper. We ate, cleaned up, and Lily headed to bed. Ashley and I chatted and readfor a bit before bed time.
