Ashley, Norma and Bailee went for a walk at Mike Miller then headed toMoores for breakfast. I hopped on the motorcycle and headed out to jointhem. The buffet was good and there was more than enough food. Back at homeAshley and I headed out to meet Mom and Gary for a bike ride. It spit rainon us for a short bit but we quickly passed through it. Mom was going a bittoo quick at a stop sign and dropped her bike, scratching up her elbow andgas tank. Worried us but everything ended up ok. Gary's battery finallygave up the ghost so we push started him out of the gas station. By then itwas about 3 so we headed to Red's BBQ for a late lunch. Delicious! Anotherpush start and we headed back to their house for some more chatting. We ranover to Tobey's house to visit with her and Hassle and see her new lightsand paint - looking good! Then back to Norma's for the evening. A bit toolate to make it to the drive in on a holiday Saturday, so we snacked andwatched a Seinfeld episode.
Woke to a couple of fawns hiding out in the yard - one was curled up in thehorse-shoe pit and the other was by a fence post. Later the first had movednext to the sandbox. Headed to church and got to sit next to Stephanie andPhilip. Brunch at the new Doughworks - really enjoyed it! Home and unpackedthe basement - art studio is set up and ready to create! Took a break andbuilt little side tables for the decks from the scraps found in the slashpile - really pleased with the results! Soup for supper. Finally took aphoto of the house with us on the porch.
Work day. Made some progress on dashboard for the store. Home early-ish andgot some more work done in the quiet of the basement. Grilled left-oversfor supper and reading before bed.
Went for a walk around the lake with Lily and generally spent the morningwith her. Ashley worked and we hung out. Hassel and Tobey went househunting for places they'd found online. Hassel grilled steak and Tobey madebaked potatoes for a delicious supper, paired with salad. We chatted for abit and then Hassel, Ashley and I went for a walk around the lake whileTobey listened for Lily. Read just for a bit before bed.
Woke up with Lily (before my alarm went off) - she and I quickly headeddownstairs to let Ashley stay in bed a bit longer. Ashley made pancakes forbreakfast then headed to the farm. She and Mary Jane made some greatprogress. Lily and I went for a walk around the lake and spent some time atthe playground - mostly with us swinging while she sat on my lap. Then homeand wandered around the house, reading. We read a bunch of the books beforeher nap. She slept for nearly three hours. I read in the hammock for a bit,in the basement. Ashley got home then we headed in to Bayfield. Picked upsome things from the hardware store. I went on to Eepa's to get somepaperwork done. Ashley and Lily went to the library for a bit and thenjoined me for supper. They headed home and I followed a bit later. AfterLily headed to bed we put mesh on the garden beds to hopefully keep thechipmunks out of the berries and greens. Then read for a bit before bed.
Garden is really looking great. We're getting at least a couple ofstrawberries every day and a pea or two. The lettuce, arugula and orach isdoing great!
Lily slept in late so Ashley and I got some quiet chores done around thehouse. Ashley put in an oatmeal bake for breakfast. I started yogurt and aloaf of bread after we ate. Lily built a really tall lego tower in thebathroom upstairs. Then we all went down to irrigate the pastures and waterthe high tunnel. Back to the house and I prepped to head to work. HopefullyLily will get a restful day at home - she and Ashley have been on the runthe whole time we've been home from the Outer Banks and they're both a bitrun down. Home and had an impromptu get together on the front porch withsnacks (Gail, Ashley, Lily, Erica, Bexley, and a boy who kept popping inand out.) I made breakfast sandwiches for supper, then went and set upirrigation for the evening.
