Slept till we woke up, it was fabulous! After breakfast we hopped on our bik es and headed along the loop through the Schoodic Peninsula. Beautiful views , even if the weather was dreary. Really enjoyed visiting the Schoodic Insti tute's visitor center and learning about the naval history of the area. Made me think of Gdad. Finished the loop and cut across the bike trails back to t he campground. It started spitting rain so good timing. I drew the flower he art drawing and read before bed.
Ryan's truck wouldn't start so I headed in to work to cover for him.Jeramiah was already there so I shadowed him in the frame shop for a bitand then headed over to the studio after class to teach the acrylic andintermediate drawing sessions. Ashley met me at the store and we gaveLeslie a ride back to her place - she hitchhiked in this morning. She'sofficially heading back to the front range to live with her parents andyesterday ends up being her last day. There's a fire around Lemon reservoirso lots of smoke in the sky along the way, and a bunch of planes droppingfire retardants. On the way back home we stopped at Ska for supper.
Ashley slept in late and I read during the morning. Headed to Baked forbreakfast burritos - tasty and huge! Then to the Vallecito campground for ahike up to the first bridge for a snack and some painting before headingback. Stopped at Pura Vida for a dessert treat - peach pie a'la mode and achocolate torte that was ginormous and delish! Home and we put pins in theUS map for the national parks and read for a bit before heading to bed.
Ashley slept downstairs and had a great night's sleep! Lily did pretty wellso mine wasn't too bad, but I did need a nap after she woke up so I had alate start to the day. Got most of the weedeating done but still a bit moreto go. Pulled the cover off the RV. Fired up the charcoal grill for burgers- worked out really well!
In to the store a bit early today, but able to get lots done. We're workingon framing a couple of certificates from the civil war, that's cool!Returned the extra materials from the chicken coop, so glad to have thatdone. Home and the french onion soup had been in the crockpot all day andsmelled delish! After Lily went to bed we ate on the back porch then tookcare of some chores around the house. I repainted Lily's chair to green, moved the firewood, etc. We relaxed together for a bit before heading tobed.
Less than stellar night's sleep, especially for Ashley. After getting upand having breakfast, Ashley went back to bed for a bit while Lily and Iwent to the playground. She was in the swing the whole time, then backhome. Mom was awake and Ashley came downstairs. Once everyone was settled Ipacked up and headed to work. Lots of scanning of old paperwork to paredown our personal files. Made great progress. Home in the evening. Mom andI had popcorn (and Lily took some, too). Put Lily to bed, then chatted withMom and Ashley before bedtime.
Lily woke early so we started the day off quicker than expected. Up and hadsome of my muesli recipe experiment breakfast and spent some time together.Ashley and Lily are both a bit under the weather so they didn't get tooclose to everyone. I met Jack for irrigation and we moved from the east towest sides of the South Pasture. Then on to work for me. The house cleanerscame so Ashley and Lily went to the library, and since story time wasoutside they were able to stay for that. I closed the store so was lategetting home. Switched the irrigation for the evening, grabbed leftoversand a delish salad for supper, then it was time to get Lily to bed. Haircutand a bit of reading before heading the same way.
