Drove down to Albuquerque, headed to Tim and Lisa's for book club. We helped prep food and drinks for the girls then Tim and I headed to Marble to clear out the house. Met a friend there briefly. It he had to leave. Enjoyed a fe w drinks and a burrito from the food truck. Headed back when they were done a nd chatted a bit more before bed.
Up and at em. After breakfast we packed our bags and headed to check outthe trail head by Simpatico Lake. It petered out and basically just went upto the hill overlooking the lake - great view from the bench but not muchof a hike. Then we headed out and up to Lake Eileen - good hike, prettysteep. Sat and ate snacks before the flies and impending thunder stormdrove us away. Back down and made it into Pura Vida for a lunch snack justbefore the rain caught us. Watched humming birds out the window while weate. Headed home and grabbed showers. Ashley cleaned for a bit and madepizzas while I repacked my bag and walked back over to the lake to test outthe sketch easel and painted a picture of the lake and a cabin. Deliciouspizzas out on the back deck for supper. Finally got to watch quot Mile, Mileand a Halfquot after trying for about two years. :D Really enjoyed it! Bedtime afterward.
Work day, got a bunch done in prep for the vacation. Almost home and Ashleyrecalled that she had to go pick up something from a friend, so she droppedme off and I cooked supper while she was on the road. Then checked into theflight and a few last minute packing things and reading before bed.
Day at home. I watched Lily most of the day. We all went for a drive afterAshley finished her last call just around the area and Lily seemed happierafter we got out for a bit - maybe she gets bored at home all the time.Wrapped up and read a bit before heading to bed.
Mom and Gary headed out early. We grabbed photos and said our goodbyesbefore they hit the road. Then we generally hung out together for the restof the day.
Up early to head to the airport. Made it with plenty of time, and inthrough security smoothly. Lily was excited to see the planes on therunway. She did great on both flights (to Dallas and then to Knoxville.) Ichatted with Linda in the chair next to me on the way to Dallas - she's awatercolor artist who does beautiful portraits. Lily really enjoyed lookingout the window and seeing the plane's wing - she kept saying quot there's aplane beside us!quot Lily didn't nap at all, so the only difficulty we ran into was that she refused to drink to relieve air pressure and it built upand she cried for a couple of minutes until her ears popped. Matt, Bailee, and Brittney picked us up at the airport. Drove from Knoxville to thehouse. It was great to visit with Matt, Britt and Bailee.
