Productive day. Got the bicycles oiled and tightened bolts on them. Fiberglassed the hole in the RV - it's ugly, but it's waterproof. Will still have to sand it down a bit - once it's flush then can paint it to make it match better. Tried printing the woodcut - the cuts aren't quite deep enough and I think that the ink might be too thick - it didn't quite work out. The cut itself I really like, though - will have to do another one in a lino block and then try again. Both on my own and sending it in to BremPress to get a run of cards or postcards or something made. Jackie and I went and picked up a wheel and tire set from some guy off craigslist for Randy's truck. He had an arcade cabinet in the garage -Jackie played tetris while I loaded the wheels. Delicious supper on the grill. Shrimp and zoodles (from the garden) along with a patty pan squash and sliced up cucumber. After eating we went for a drive out to the Hood Canal. Had an amazing view of the stars! Also, when swirling up the water we got to see some phytoplankton. The glowing plankton in the water. It's like fireflies in the water. Or shooting stars in the water. Pretty cool, however you describe it!
Drove toward the beach and stopped at Tybean coffee shop while everyoneelse went out on the dolphin tour. We enjoyed our drinks then headed intoTybee and, after circling twice, ended up heading back to the house sincewe couldn't find parking. At lunch and got some work done before walkinginto town for a bit. Stopped in the Moon River brewery for a drink and ithappened to come a downpour for a few minutes while sitting there, soperfect timing. Meandered on back home, stopping at Collins Quarter to pickup some Toby's Estates Coffee for Tobey. Headed back to the house and hungout with Jim and Norma till supper and then bed.
Woke, made coffee, and hit the neighborhood for garage sales. Ashley got afree lamp and I found some tools to add to the collection. Home for a latebreakfast on the porch and then time for some work. We changed the addresson our drivers licenses, got a bunch of clean-up done in the yard, and evenfound a dead deer! Maintenance dept. drove the backhoe up to collect thecarcas and we piled most of the gathered/trimmed branches on the trailer(though too late to go and drop them off this weekend...) I worked onorganizing the garage and Ashley called in for her book club meeting. Nextmonth is going to be here, so that's pretty exciting! Salmon for supper, then reading and tea before bed.
Breakfast was spinach and feta quiche and homemade bread. Then we packed upand hiked the Lind Point Trail to the overlook on the point, above Cruz Bayand the city. Then on to Honeymoon Bay for snorkeling. Saw and got right inthe middle of a school of many different fish, lots of fun to see them soclose! Lunch and a bit of sketching before we headed to the next beach,Salomon. We dozed for a few minutes before getting in the water - by thenwe had the place to ourselves! Not much in the water but great to justpaddle around. Finally packed and hiked back to town for ice cream cones.Grabbed a side for supper and back to the house for the evening.Yesterday E2 80 99s leftovers with a fresh side, really tasty! While eating therewas a 4.3 earthquake on St Thomas - wasn E2 80 99t expecting that! I painte d for afew minutes and we headed in the room to read. Enjoyed our caramel tastetest then read before bed.
Hung out with Lily while Ashley worked. Researched gardening while shenapped. Made curried chicken in the crockpot for supper - turned out great!
I was sick and spent a lot of the day in bed, resting.
Early day. Ashley let the chickens out while Lily and I swung on the porch. Then motorcycled to work to meet the order and get ready for the day. Fullday at the store. Grabbed some groceries and home to play before Lily'sbedtime. Put her to bed, ran to grab ice cream from the store, then readfor the evening.
